OwnerMailbox
Terms of service
Last updated 12 August 2026
These terms cover your use of OwnerMailbox. We have kept them plain, because a mail service that hides its rules in nine pages of small print is telling you something.
The agreement
By creating an account or using an invited beta mailbox you agree to these terms. If you are setting the account up for a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept them on its behalf.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Turn on two step sign in. Tell us promptly at support@ownermailbox.com if you think someone else has access. One person or business per account, and you may not resell mailboxes without asking us first.
Acceptable use
Do not use OwnerMailbox to send unsolicited bulk mail, to run phishing or fraud, to distribute malware, to harass anyone, or to break the law in the place you are sending from or to. Do not attempt to overload, probe or work around the limits of the service. We may suspend an account that is doing any of this, and we will tell you why.
The beta
During the invite-only beta the service is free, features may change, and limits may be adjusted while we learn how the system behaves under real load. We will give at least 30 days notice before billing begins on any account, and the price quoted at signup is the price you get.
Payment
Once out of beta, plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance. A 30 day free trial applies to new paid accounts. There is no contract and no cancellation fee. Cancel at any time and your mailbox keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices exclude any sales tax that applies where you are.
Your content
Your mail is yours. Nothing here gives us ownership of it. We only handle it to the extent needed to run the service, as described in the privacy policy.
Availability
We work to keep the service running around the clock and we publish the current state on this site. Even so, mail systems have bad days. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible. We do not offer a formal uptime guarantee during the beta.
Leaving
You can export your mail over IMAP and your contacts as vCard at any time, and if you brought your own domain you simply repoint the MX records elsewhere. If you close your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that goes unpaid after a reminder, or that puts the service or other customers at risk. Except where the law or an active abuse investigation prevents it, we will give notice and a reasonable chance to export your mail first.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost profits or lost business. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will post the new version here and send a notice to your mailbox before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the change.
