Invite-only beta

Private email for people who run a business.

Your own address on ownermailbox.com. No ad tracking, no profiling, and no scanning your mail to sell you things.

What you get

Everything a one person business actually needs.

  • Your own address

Take you@ownermailbox.com, or point a domain you already own at your mailbox. Either way the address is yours to keep.

  • Aliases and catch-all

Give every supplier, form and marketplace its own address. When one starts leaking, switch it off and keep the rest.

  • Spam and trackers blocked

Junk filtering runs before mail reaches you, and remote tracking pixels are stripped from every message by default.

  • Works with your apps

Standard IMAP and SMTP, so Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird and your accounting tools connect without a plugin.

How we make money

You are the customer, not the inventory.

Your inbox is paid for by you, never by advertisers, data brokers or attention markets.

Subscriptions keep the incentives simple. Protect your mail, build useful tools, and answer to the people who rely on us.

Read the privacy policy
  • No ads, ever
  • No profiling or mail scanning
  • No selling data to anyone
  • Funded only by subscriptions

And on the technical side

  • TLS in transit, encrypted at rest
  • Two step sign in from day one
  • Export everything over IMAP, any time

Setting up

Three steps, and none of them are yours to debug.

Most owners move over on a quiet afternoon. If DNS is not your idea of a good time, send us the login and we will do that part.

  1. 01

    Pick your address

Claim a name on ownermailbox.com, or tell us the domain you already use for the business.

    Takes about a minute

  2. 02

    Point two records

We give you the MX and DKIM records to paste into your DNS, then check them for you until they go green.

    MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC

  3. 03

    Bring your old mail

Give the importer read access to your current mailbox and it copies folders, dates and read state across.

    IMAP import, nothing deleted

Questions

Straight answers.

Anything not covered here, write to support@ownermailbox.com and a person will answer.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Point the MX records for your domain at OwnerMailbox and send through our SMTP servers. We generate the DKIM key and the DMARC record for you, and the domain stays registered in your name at your registrar, not ours.

How do I move my old mail over?

The importer connects to your current provider over IMAP and copies your folders across, keeping dates, read state and attachments. Nothing is deleted at the other end, so you can run both mailboxes side by side for as long as you want.

Do you read my email?

No. Mail is not scanned for advertising, profiling or model training. Automated filtering for spam and malware runs on delivery because that is the only way to keep junk out, and a person only ever looks at a message if you send it to support and ask us to.

What is the catch?

We are small and new. There is no free tier, the mobile apps are not built yet so you will use a standard mail client, and support is a handful of people answering mail rather than a 24 hour desk. If you need a company with a phone number and an account manager, we are not it yet.

What happens when the beta ends?

Beta mailboxes keep working. You will get a month of notice before billing starts, the price you were quoted at signup is the price you get, and if you would rather not continue you can export and close the account with nothing owed.

What if I want to leave?

Take everything with you. Your mail comes out over IMAP into any other client or provider, your contacts export as vCard, and if you brought your own domain you simply repoint the MX records. There is no contract and no exit fee.

Is my mail backed up?

Every mailbox is stored on redundant disks and snapshotted daily, with snapshots kept for 30 days. Deleted mail sits in Trash for 30 days before it is removed for good. Backups are for recovering from our failures, not a substitute for your own archive.
